Produced at a cost of USD$13 million each, this contract birthed the largest ever Airbus landing gear system test rig.To confirm complete integration of the landing gear systems with the Airbus A340-600/500 jetliner before its operational deployment, Helipebs Controls put the systems through a rigorous testing program consisting of six thousand performance cycles. The Helipebs Controls-produced rig enabled engineers from the Airbus UK team to evaluate the new landing gear technologies before the aircraft’s maiden flight. The engineers from the Helipebs Controls team assisted the Airbus UK engineers with the design of the attachments located between the main test frame and aircraft’s undercarriage system.
