Upton revealed that the decision was made when it was discovered that the fine pitch FPC connector that is used on the Raspberry Pi’s Compute Module Development Kit fits almost seamlessly onto the right side of the Zero’s board.

Intel, the American multi-nation technology company and one of the world’s highest valued and largest semiconductor chip makers, has recently deployed a co-processor of its own in order to compete with rivals AMD and Nvidia, both of which offer graphics processors. Intel’s co-processors are being offered in the form for field programmable gate arrays, or FPGAs. Field programmable gate arrays are incredibly fast chips which are capable of being reprogrammed in order to perform specific tasks.
