On June 1st 2016, Karen Haslam released an article on Mac-world talking about the new Mac mini which includes information on the specifications, features, release dates, and rumors. It seems as if the Mac Mini has not been given an upgrade since 2014, however, this doesn’t mean that Apple will show something new this year. There has been a lot of rumors as to what kind of specifications will be in the Mac Mini. These rumors are based on past trends of what has been coming out to the marketplace with every upgrade.
The Mac Mini is considered the cheapest desktop Mac which as a fully installed OS X desktop. However, this unit does not come with a display, mouse, or keyboard. At one point in time, the Mac mini OS X server was available for purchase. That time has passed however in October 2014.
The most recent Mac Mini came out in October 16th 2014 while there has been a new release in 2014. Because of this trend, it is likely that a new version of the Mac-Mini will come out in 2016. As it stands currently, there are three different prices of the Mac Mini: 399 pounds, 569 pounds, and 799 pounds. With this being said, there doesn’t seem to be rumors that show that the Mac Mini will get a reduction in price.
There is a possibility that the Mac Mini will become much smaller and thinner because Apple could get rid of the CD drive that might be considered obsolete at this day in age. There is a 4GB RAM model currently which might be discarded for a higher RAM as a base at 8 GB RAM.
