Nvidia’s Latest GPUs

Nvidia, the American technology company which designs graphics processing units for the gaming market has recently announced their most recent gaming graphics processing units, the Ge-force GTX 1070 as well as the GTX 1080. These gaming graphics processing units are based on the most recent Pascal architecture and were initially revealed in early May. During the initial launch, Nvidia did not provide much information regarding the GTX 1070. Now, the company has revealed more information regarding the graphic card.

Nvidia has recommended that the GTX 1070 features 1920 CUDA Cores, rather than the 2560 CUDA Cores found in the GTX 1080. The most recent GTX 1080 is equipped with 8 GB of GDDR5X memory from Micron. In comparison, the GTX 1070 will continue to utilize the old generation of 8 GB GDDR5 memory.

Our Pascal-based GPUs feature enhanced asynchronous compute, and are the first to harness the power of 8GB of Micron's new GDDR5X memory. The GTX 1080 is the first gaming GPUs designed for the 16nm FinFET process.

the company reported.

The GTX 1080 is equipped with a base clock of 1,607 MHz as well as a boost clock of 1,733 MHz. The GTX 1070 has a clock speed which is slightly lower, as this gaming processing unit has a 1,506 MHz base clock as well as a 1,683 MHz boost clock. Compared with its predecessors, both the GTX 1070 as well as the GTX 1080 requires less power. The GTX 1070 has 100W less than Nvidia’s Titan X with a TDP of 150W; the GTX 1080 features a TDP of 180W. The GTX 1070 will be equipped with a heat pipe cooler that is similar to the one found in Nvidia’s GTX 980. The GTX 1080 will be equipped with a vapor chamber cool. The CEO of Nvidia, Jen-Hsun Huan, has announced that the GTX 1080 will be officially available on May 27, while the GTX 1070 will be officially available on June 10.

The GTX 1080 will be available in two models: the regular version priced at $599 and a Founders Edition, which will have a price tag of $699. The Founders Edition will be available from Nvidia, Zotac, PNY, Palit, MSI, Innovision 3D, Gigabyte, Galaxy, Gainward, EVGA, Colorful and ASUS.

reported Sumit Passary from Tech Times.

The GTX 1070 will also hit the shelves in two models: the regular version that will cost $379 and the Founders Edition, which will be priced at $449.
